Kalami Bay
Kalami Bay is considered to be one of the most tranquil beauty spots in Corfu. It lies in a horseshoe-shaped bay with a gently shelving white pebble beach. The turquoise Ionian Sea, the olive clad hillside and the picturesque villages around Kalami are a perfect combination for an idyllic and relaxing holiday.

Kalami is well known as the place where the Nobel prize nominated author Lawrence Durrell once lived in the White House, and wrote his excellent novel ‘Prospero’s Cell’. The White House is still preserved at the end of Kalami bay and is now a successful taverna.
If you like exploring and walking, there are some beautiful coastal and scenic walks where you can visit nearby bays.The first bay north of Kalami is the picturesque little harbour of Kouloura (approx.10 min. walk), one of the highlights of the northeastern coast of Corfu, then Kerasia (approx.30 min. walk) and San Stephanos (approx.1 hours walk). On the other side of Kalami you can reach Yaliskari – or Gialiskari – bay (approx.15min. walk), which is an isolated and unexploited beach with vivid blue crystal clear water and a little further on Agni bay (approx.25 min.walk) with it’s three traditional taverns. A coastal path continues south to quaint Kaminaki (approx.1 hour walk).
